A father and son accused of transporting drugs and drug operation equipment across Chase County nearly two months ago will have an arraignment hearing in June.
Forty-seven-year-old Seth Kindt of Inglis, Florida, and his father, 75-year-old Duff Kindt of Stout, Ohio, will go before Judge Lee Fowler on June 10.
Both men were arrested Feb. 22 after a traffic stop near Strong City. Documents posted online to the Kansas District Court Public Access Portal indicate the Kindts had 10.5 pounds of marijuana, as well as unspecified grow operation items and two firearms.
Both were arrested on suspicion of possessing marijuana with intent to distribute and possessing paraphernalia with intent to manufacture. Seth Kindt is also charged with criminal use of weapons by a person addicted to a controlled substance and speeding.
At a preliminary hearing Friday, defense attorneys Steve Atherton and Monte Miller asked to modify a no-contact bond provision and allow both men to attend the June pretrial hearing by Zoom. A ruling will be announced later.
