Laps 4 Landon is set for Tuesday at the Emporia State Recreation Center.
The event will run from 6 to 8 p.m. that will include food from Lazy Butt BBQ, snow cones, a bouncy castle, sand volleyball and games with Emporia State athletes. A silent auction will also be held with the items being on display in the ESU Rec Center.
Proceeds go to the The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The event is planned and hosted by ESU Health Human Performances students as a capstone project for one of their classes. Organizer Jennifer Thomas says her students want to make this year’s event the best in its existence.
Thomas says the event, held in April each year, couldn’t be successful without the community’s overwhelming support. Three area children are currently battling with CF, 17-year old Landon Dody of Council Grove, who the event is named after, along with 8-year-old Aiden Drier of Emporia and toddler Ren DuBree of Americus.
To bid on silent auction items, visit the Laps 4 Landon 2024 Facebook event. Bids will only be accepted between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
