The Emporia Recreation Commission has current and future matters on its agenda for a meeting Monday evening.
For current matters, board members will discuss a recent cleaning project for air ducts in the Lee Beran Recreation Center’s gym and indoor pool. They will also discuss non-resident fees.
Items concerning future matters include two updates on the New Rec Center Steering Committee’s work, including a discussion on last week’s meeting with architects and construction managers at risk as well as information from the Kansas Leadership Institute about a possible consultant.
Off those topics, the Rec Commission could approve the 2024 Jones Aquatic Center management agreement with the city of Emporia.
The meeting starts at 5:30 pm at the Rec Center.
The Steering Committee will meet at 7 pm Tuesday, also at the Rec Center. Committee members will review and answer questions submitted by potential architects and construction managers at risk for the public rec center’s potential expansion or new location. They will also continue discussions about using a facilitator.
