Names cannot be released at this time, however, contracts are have reportedly been signed for the next phase of development at the Emporia Pavilions.
The announcement came from Emporia City Manager Trey Cocking Monday during the monthly Q&A With Trey segment on KVOE’s airwaves. Cocking could not divulge the names of the companies but did say the list of stores were all retail-focused and did not include any restaurants.
KVOE asked if the city or developers were close to bringing any restaurants to the development to which he replied “Restaurants have moved a little bit slower than I hoped that they would.”
That being said, Cocking tells KVOE News that by spring of next year, the development could see contracts signed for a food-related business of some kind. Monday’s announcement on phase 4 came as part of a larger update on local development projects including phase 3 of the Pavilions development.
Cocking tells KVOE News tentative plans are for phase 3 construction to be completed by September 1. Phase 3 of the Pavillions includes the additions of Old Navy and Five Below to the community and the relocation of Maurices from Flint Hills Mall.
Hobby Lobby was the first store to open in the Pavilions, opening in 2017 and was followed by phase 2 in late 2022 with the opening of Marshall’s, Ross Dress for Less and Shoe Dept. Encore.
