Overnight storms early Thursday struggled to reach severe levels after stronger activity north of Emporia before midnight.
Pre-midnight storms Wednesday dropped hail stones ranging from quarter to baseball size in Wabaunsee County. A following line of rain fell apart as it approached Emporia, leading to light rainfall reports:

*Emporia Municipal Airport: 0.04 inches
*1100 block Constitution: Trace
Windy conditions will return as well. Northerly winds could be as high as 40 mph for the afternoon hours. Chase and Greenwood counties are now in a wind advisory until 4 pm.
