Five Emporia wrestlers placed in the top 6 and were named All-Americans in the Adidas Nationals that concluded on April 14 in Independence, Missouri.
Emporia High sophomore Jose Vargas finished third at 288 among 10th graders. Emporia High senior Josiah Bradley finished fourth at 288 among 12th graders. Emporia High freshman Garrett LeBlanc finished fifth at 155 among 9th graders. Emporia High sophomore Claire Starr finished sixth in the 9-12 division. Broxtyn Williams finished sixth at 100 in the 4th grade division.
The tournament had 2,300 wrestlers participate representing 36 states.
