The Emporia State women’s tennis team dropped two duals over the weekend losing 6-1 at Central Oklahoma Saturday and falling by the same score at Northeastern State on Sunday. Anastasia Pesic took a victory at #4 singles against the Bronchos but UCO won all but one other match in straight sets. The score was the same but the duel was very different with the RiverHawks with several matches being tightly contested. Perla Conde & Sheridan Wichman won at #3 doubles but the ‘Hawks came back to win the other two matches to take the doubles point. Paige Stranghoner tied the match for the Hornets with a 6-1, 6-2 victory at #5 singles, but the Lady Hornets dropped the last five singles matches including four that went three sets. ESU falls to 5-11 overall and 1-6 inside ‘Association’ play and returns to action in Emporia on Thursday in the regular season finale against Missouri Western. The Lady Hornets will celebrate Senior Day with first serve at 2:00 p.m. at the Kossover Family Tennis Center.
