The governor vetoed five bills last week:

*House Bill 2532, resetting the tax distribution for parimutuel wagers on historic horse races.
*House Bill 2583, increasing criminal penalties for harming or killing law enforcement K-9 units or horses.
*House Bill 2614, requiring county election officers to track the names of people delivering advance vote ballots behalf of other voters.
*House Bill 2618, prohibiting the use of federal funds for conducting elections and related activities unless approved by the Kansas Legislature.
Governor Kelly also allowed two bills to become law without her signature:
*House Bill 2105, which halts colleges and universities from taking certain actions on applicants for admission or employment regarding diversity, equity and inclusion.
*House Bill 2711, enacting the “Countries of Concern Divestment Act.”
Lawmakers are set to open the veto session Thursday.
