As lawmakers begin the veto session this week, Kansas Governor Laura Kelly will spend part of her Thursday in Emporia.
The governor is ending her Medicaid expansion town hall tour with a short conference at the Emporia Granada Theatre from 11:40 am to noon. Her conference will follow visits to three downtown businesses, starting around 11 am.
The Kansas Senate has agreed to have a floor debate on the governor’s Medicaid expansion plan during the veto session, while the House has not.
Residents wanting to attend the Medicaid expansion conference need to RSVP to director@emporiamainsteet.com.
