The Emporia State softball team scored three runs in the first and never trailed in a 4-1 victory over Rockhurst in Kansas City, Mo. Tuesday. The game ended a 10-day layoff for ESU. Alexis Dial started the scoring with a triple before an Emma Furnish squeeze bunt made it 2-0. Bailey Flewelling doubled her in to cap the scoring before Josie Harrison doubled in a run in the third. Rockhurst dented the scoreboard in the sixth but managed just three hits in the game. Gracie Rabe lasted 3.1 innings and allowed one hit but didn’t qualify for the win. Josie Harrison (5-3) picked up the victory while Kelly Hipsher picked up her fifth save. Dial finished 2-for-3 and scored two runs for the Lady Hornets. The regular season ends with Senior Day on Saturday against Washburn in the Turnpike Tussle.
