The Emporia State women’s basketball program is adding another local standout to its 2024-25 season roster.
Burlingame’s Kaylin Noonan signed to play for the Lady Hornets on Wednesday. Noonan holds eight school records at Burlingame. Noonan holds career school records in points with 1,654, rebounds with 733, and steals with 287. Noonan holds single-season school records in points with 457, assists with 106, points in a game with 41, rebounds in a game with 17, and assists in a game with nine.
Noonan averaged 20.7 points, nine rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 4.5 steals for the Lady Bearcats this past season. Noonan was named a unanimous first-team All-Lyon County League selection, and a first-team All-State selection by Sports In Kansas, KSHSAA Covered, and the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association. In March, Noonan played in the Flint Hills Optimist Club’s All-Star Classic and the Northeast Kansas All-Star Game at Highland Community College. In June, Noonan will play in the KBCA All-Star Game in Salina.
Burlingame girls basketball coach Jeff Slater said Noonan kept the door open in case an opportunity came up to continue to play collegiately.
Noonan joins the incoming freshmen class which includes Emporia High’s Addie Kirmer, Silver Lake’s Makenzie McDaniel, Rossville’s Emma Mitchell, Clearwater’s Elizabeth Tjaden, and Jayla Cornelius of Blue Springs, Mo.
