It was a good day for the Emporia High track and field teams at the Circle Invitational on Thursday.
The Lady Spartans won the meet with 102 points, two more than runner-up Wellington.
Paige Newland won the triple jump with a mark of 36-9.50 and was fourth in the long jump with a mark of 15-11.50. Mia Trujillo won the discus with a throw of 109-1. The 4x800m relay team of Sofia Ruvalcaba, Bailee VanSickle, Emma Beatty, and Leanna Lewis finished second with a time of 10:37.26. Marley Mullen finished second in the 100m dash with a time of 13 seconds. In the 1,600m run, Madison Evans finished third (5:47.15), Beatty took fourth (5:50.38) and Micah Sheffy-Harris was fifth (5:51.52). In the 3,200m run, Evans finished third with a time of 12:45.11 while Sheffy-Harris finished fourth with a time of 12:52.60. Ruvalcaba finished third in the 800m with a time of 2:32.32 while Beatty finished fifth with a time of 2:36.81. Lexsey DeWitt finished fourth in the 300m hurdles with a time of 51.56. The 4x400m relay team of Harley Smith, Lauren Williams, DeWitt, and Reagan Thompson finished fourth with a time of 4:21.29. The 4x100m relay team of Thompson, Mullen, Kaylee DeWitt, and Newland finished fifth with a time of 52.52. Smith took fifth in the 100m with a time of 13.07 and was fifth in the 400m with a time of 1:02.78.
The Spartans won the meet with 96 points 25 more than runner-up Circle.
Jeremiah Huber won the pole vault clearing 12-6. He also finished third in the 110m hurdles with a time of 16.31. RJ Tabares won the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.57. The 4x100m relay team of Harry Trelc, Calvin Seeley, Blake Spellman, and Tabares finished second with a time of 44.01. Daghyn True finished second in the 3,200m with a time of 9:46.05. Spellman finished second in the 400m with a time of 50.65. Garrett LeBlanc finished third in the triple jump with a mark of 39-7. The 4x400m relay team of Spellman, Trelc, LeBlanc and Tabares finished third with a time of 3:36.96. Ben Collins finished fourth in the 110m hurdles with a time of 16.64. He was third in the 300m hurdles with a time of 45.29. Chance Duncan finished fourth in the javelin with a throw of 132-6. He was fifth in the discus with a throw of 140-2. Tyler Luthi finished fifth in the 800m with a time of 2:13.10. Seeley finished fifth in the long jump with a jump of 20-5.25.
Emporia High will next be in action next Thursday with the Centennial League Championships in Junction City.
