Saturday is opening day for the Emporia Farmers Market’s regular season, and Coordinator Trisha Fullerton says vendors are ready to go.
Besides produce, baked goods, meats and other items, the Farmers Market will hand out Market Bucks to attending kids and there will be a drawing for a $25 Farmers Market gift certificate.
The opening bell sounds at 8 am at the Farmers Market parking lot, Seventh and Merchant. The market is now open Saturdays through October. Wednesday evenings get added to the schedule next month.
This follows the end of the winter market season at Waters Hardware last month, and Fullerton says it was a successful season due to the amount of vendors and the community turnout.
