The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for portions of the KVOE listening area through early Saturday.
The watch currently includes Chase, Morris and Wabaunsee counties until 4 am. Currently there is a marginal risk for severe weather areawide through the overnight hours.
NWS says there is confidence storms from the west could begin to weaken as they enter the core listening area, lessening the possibility of severe activity. That being said, the main hazards with any storms that develop will be quarter sized hail and high winds possibly up to 65 mph at times.
