The Flint Hills’ spring burning season is essentially over.
KS Flint Hills Smoke Management, the social media wing of the state’s Flint Hills Smoke Management Plan, says a summary and comparison to prior years will be announced soon, but it also says warming temperatures and considerable rainfall have helped to end the season.
As of April 29, nearly 1.4 million acres have been burned across the Flint Hills of Kansas and Oklahoma. Area county stats:

*Chase County: 101,423 acres
*Coffey County: 23,012 acres
*Greenwood County: 89,885 acres
*Morris County: 74,952 acres
*Osage County: 29,978 acres
*Wabaunsee County:126,103 acres
