Monday was big for USD 421 Lyndon.
The district formally broke ground on a new Collaborative Learning Center on the south side of its elementary school building. Superintendent Brad Marcotte says this has been some time in the making.
The facility is designed for a classroom, multipurpose space, a serving kitchen, dining space and over 400-person storm shelter.
Official construction begins next week, weather permitting. The facility could be ready for use by summer 2025. Marcotte sees the new building as a way to connect the district to the community as an activity hub once it’s built.
