There’s a new era coming for many Emporia State students with graduation activities this weekend. There’s a new era coming for ESU as a whole this weekend, but for an entirely different reason.
Emporia State has a new food service vendor, replacing longtime vendor Sodexho with Fresh Ideas. Memorial Union Director Carmen Leeds says Fresh Ideas was chosen for its “fresh, made-from-scratch food and excellent customer service.” ESU also says there will be several new programs and dining options on campus, including but not limited to all-new dining concepts, a new FreshX mobile app, new retail food options at Hornet Express and new technology including a 24/7 fresh-food vending machine.
The transition to Fresh Ideas begins Saturday. ESU is focusing on food service for Hornet Connection, the enrollment process for new students this upcoming fall, as well as the NCAA Division II Track and Field Championships later this month and Unbound Gravel riders staying in ESU residence halls the next few weeks.
