One person has been charged in connection with an incident in east Emporia from Tuesday morning.
Emanul Cornejo has been charged with aggravated battery, knowingly causing great bodily harm or disfigurement, with an alternate aggravated battery count for recklessly causing great bodily harm or disfigurement. Cornejo is also charged with battery against law enforcement and criminal damage.
Emporia Police are not releasing specifics about this case, but Lyon County Attorney Marc Goodman says the charges are connected to Tuesday’s incident in the 700 block of Sylvan that led to Cornejo’s arrest and another man’s transport to Newman Regional Health with suspected serious injuries.
Cornejo’s first court appearance in Lyon County District Court is Monday.
