The Emporia High boys golf team has clinched its ticket to the Class 5A State Golf Championship.
Emporia High won the Class 5A regional hosted by Topeka West at Cypress Ridge Golf Course in Topeka shooting a 306. The Spartans won the tournament by 10 strokes over Basheor-Linwood. Hudson Sauder finished as the regional runner-up shooting a 71. Jared Johnson finished sixth with a 77. Will Walker was right behind Johnson also with a 77 taking seventh. Marley Harter finished 10th with an 81. Nolan Jacob finished 17th with an 83. Cooper Rech finished 37th with a 102.
The Class 5A State Golf Championship will be held next Monday and Tuesday at Sand Creek Station Golf Course in Newton.
