An Osage City man was arrested late last week on suspected drug distribution activity.
Osage County Sheriff Chris Wells says the arrest of 58-year-old Clifford Parsons developed after a narcotic search warrant in the 100 block of Osage City’s Market Street shortly before 8 pm. Parsons was arrested on suspicion of distributing methamphetamine and paraphernalia, along with unlawful distribution of controlled substances using a communication facility and possessing marijuana. Formal charges are pending.
Osage County Communications Director Bret Lewis says this is a separate effort from the one that led to the arrest of Shawna Valentine, also for suspected meth and paraphernalia distribution. Valentine’s arrest happened Friday morning in the 1200 block of Laing in Osage City, also after a warrant search.
Formal charges are pending against both Parsons and Valentine in their separate cases. Valentine has a status conference in Osage County District Court on June 27 for an alleged violation of the state’s offender registry act.
