SparkWheel is announcing grant funding that it says will help its ongoing mission of reducing education barriers.
Communcations Manager Noelle Haselhuhn says Evergy has asked the grant amount not be released, but she says it’s “significant” and “generous.” She also says this will benefit students and their families served by SparkWheel across Kansas and Missouri, including Emporia High, Logan Avenue, William Allen White and Walnut locally, by supporting staffing and essential needs items.
The Evergy grant follows a $3,250 award from the Emporia Community Foundation last month to sponsor the SparkWheel Integrated Student Supports model directly benefiting local students. It also follows a $4,000 grant from the United Way of the Flint Hills in March to bolster student supports.
