Parents of Emporia Public Schools students now have their children home for the summer. If they have students going back this fall, there will be new technology in place for them to learn.
The district is moving away from PowerSchool, its enrollment software company for years, when it comes to communication. It is now working with ParentSquare for “school-to-home” communication. The district says the change will help “keep families informed and encourage greater connections with Emporia Public Schools.”
The district will keep PowerSchool for attendance, grades and other student data.
With the district not offering a traditional enrollment option for the upcoming 2024-2025 academic year, the district will “roll over” all student PowerSchool account data to the next school year. Updates or changes to student information will be handled in July through the PowerSchool Parent Portal.
The district plans to announce more information about ParentSquare via email and social media May 31.
