Graduates of Flint Hills Technical College were given “their flowers” as they walked across the stage of White Auditorium into the next chapter of their lives Saturday morning.
The FHTC Spring Commencement ceremony saw more than 300 graduates receive their various degrees and certificates to culminate their vocational journeys. Saturday’s featured speaker was network technology graduate Seth Waters who spoke with KVOE News before offering his thoughts to his fellow Wranglers.
He tells KVOE News his message was short and simple, he wanted to give his classmates “their flowers” and express his pride in each of them for the work they have put in over the years.
Waters says it is a great feeling when students receive praise from teachers and family, however, he believes it is extra special to hear the same words from your peers.
Saturday’s ceremony culminated a week’s worth of graduation activities at both the higher education and high school levels inside of White Auditorium. Emporia State University held its spring commencement activities May 10th and 11th with Emporia High School recognizing its graduates on May 12.
