Flint Hills Mall was the place to be to take in various food trucks Saturday afternoon as part of the mall’s semi-annual Food Truck Rally.
Community members could visit regular food trucks at the rally like Lazy Butt BBQ, KS Snack Shack, or Shelby’s Snack Shack. Two new food trucks made their mall rally debut on Saturday, Tumi Peruvian Food and Granny’s Sweets and Eats.
Granny’s Sweets and Eats Co-Owner Gayla Rangel says this was the second event it has been to this month. Rangel says she wants to expand to attending events outside of Cottonwood Falls.
KS Snack Shack brought two different trucks to the rally. Co-owner Tony Horne says it wanted to bring a variety of different foods it offers with its food trucks.
Mall Marketing Manager Nicole Lipson says it’s great for new food trucks to attend the rally and start growing their business.
Lipson says one of her emphases with the two food truck rallies the mall hosts yearly is bringing the community together.
The mall’s fall semi-annual food truck rally is scheduled for September 21.
