Students and families of Logan Avenue Elementary School spent their Saturday in Hammond Park throwing discs for a great cause.
The sixth annual Logan Lion Launch Disc Golf Tournament welcomed more than 50 participants between two rounds of play. Tournament Director and Logan PTA Vice President Sarah Megredy says she was excited by the turnout and the proceeds it will help to generate for the school.
She adds that in the six years since the fundraiser began, disc golf has quickly become a piece of the culture at Logan including the creation of its disc golf team which she says the entire school family is heavily involved with.
All proceeds from the event will go to support activities for students including field trips. Megredy also says some of the dollars raised may be put towards completing the school’s disc golf course.
