Neither the Osage County nor Coffey County sheriff’s offices are now saying anything about an alleged incident involving two Osage County elected officials.
WIBW-TV, KVOE News’ television partner in Topeka, says Osage County Sheriff Chris Wells confirmed deputies responded to the Osage County Courthouse in Lyndon on May 13 after an alleged disturbance involving County Clerk Michelle Morris and County Commissioner Heather Kuder. At the time, according to TV-13, Wells said Morris was the alleged victim and Kuder was the alleged perpetrator — but the nature of the incident was not stated. Wells says there were no arrests.
In responding to a KVOE News information request, the Coffey County Sheriff’s Office says it has received the case and is investigating. It says it has nothing to release at this time.
Kuder represents the Osage County Second District, including Carbondale and Overbrook.
