Several area law enforcement agencies have mentioned plans to take part in Click It or Ticket.
The enforcement effort began Sunday and continues through June 2. Extra law enforcement officials will be on the road, looking specifically for seatbelt and child seat use. Officers and deputies are looking for unrestrined drivers, passengers and children, but they say all traffic laws will be enforced during the two-week effort.
Lyon, Greenwood and Morris county deputies have confirmed their involvement.
Separately, the Coffey County Sheriff’s was recently notified — by Senator Jerry Moran in person — that it will receive a $157,000 COPS Technology and Equipment Program grant for upcoming technology upgrades.
