How big of a game-changer is the renovated and expanded David Traylor Zoo Education Center?

Friends of the Zoo board member Colleen Mitchell had Proehl’s job when the conversations started about expanding the ZEC. She says the building features a lot of what had been talked about years ago.
For retiring Zoo Director Lisa Keith, the work couldn’t be possible without the support of the EFOZ board and city leadership.
Residents had a chance to enjoy a ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by an open house highlighted by building tours. Construction since late 2022 doubled the building’s footprint, adding restroom space, an indoor classroom and an outdoor classroom while revamping its indoor animal displays, thanks to the nearly $5 million Oasis capital campaign.
