Funeral services will take place this week for Emporia firefighter Greg Rausch, who passed away last week after a battle with cancer.
Visitation will be at St. John’s Parish in Clonmel from 4-6:45 pm Tuesday, with a vigil at 7 pm. The funeral will be at St. John’s in Clonmel at 10:30 am Wednesday.
Rausch, 41, had served Emporia Fire for over 15 years but developed non-Hodgkins lymphoma last year. Several significant complications followed, including leptomeningeal disease, where cancer cells get into the cerebrospinal fluid and, in Rausch’s case, his brain. A large mass was discovered on his spine early this month, and the decision was made to end medical treatments.
