The Kansas Department of Transportation has a road project beginning early next month east of Emporia.
KDOT crews will seal cracks on the northbound lanes across much of Coffey and Osage counties, beginning half a mile west of US Highway 75 and going east eight miles Rock Creek. Traffic will be constricted to one lane at the work zone with a lower speed limit than normal. The plan is to have this project done by late summer.
Parking Lot Maintenance of Lewis, Missouri, won the contract with a $1.1 million bid.
