Memorial Day typically has community activities sprinkled through the holiday weekend, and the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve has family activities coming Saturday morning.
Children will have a chance to learn about life on a working ranch in the 1880s with a range of activities like gathering eggs, feeding chickens, milking goats and cleaning horse stalls between 10 am and noon. Kids will get sticker tokens for each activity completed along with a Spring Hill Ranch certificate.
Wagon rides will also take place every 20 minutes from 1-3 pm, and families are encouraged to hike some of the preserve’s over 40 miles of trails.
Families are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch. Activities are free of charge.
