Empower House continues its work to help men and women getting away from drug abuse, and Director Melissa Landis had an update for Lyon County commissioners during their weekly meeting Thursday.
Landis says the women’s house is consistently busy since it began operations two years ago, and the same can be said for the men’s house after Empower House took ownership of that facility last fall. She also says Emporia has a lot of services available for people recovering from various addictions.
Separately, county commissioners approved renewing the county’s geopermits portal hosting service through Schneider Geospatial involving planning, zoning and floodplain web-based permit matters. The county cost is not to exceed $5,556.
