A pair of Emporia State track and field athletes have earned All-American honors from the United States Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association. Jake Johnson finished 10th in the country in the 400m hurdles with a 52.65 in the event at his home track to earn Second Team honors. Mele Taula earned a pair of Second Team All-American awards with an 11th place finish in the javelin and a 12th place finish nationally in the shot put. The Hornets hosted the 2024 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field National Championships at Welch Stadium last weekend and will do so again in 2026. Three all-time Division II records were set along with 22 facility records over the three-day event.
