A preliminary hearing is on the Lyon County docket in a drug distribution case after a hearing Wednesday.
Maelynn Martinez, age 21 of Blue Springs, Missouri, will appear before Judge Doug Jones at 3:30 pm June 17.
Martinez is charged with single counts of drug distribution and paraphernalia possession after an alleged incident near Emporia two weeks ago. Lyon County deputies say they stopped a car on Interstate 35 near the Road U junction after it didn’t yield to a stationary emergency vehicle helping a disabled motorist. Deputies say the resulting traffic stop led to over 400 grams of marijuana, nearly 120 THC vape cartridges, assorted edible THC products and drug paraphernalia allegedly in the vehicle.
Two other people in the vehicle at the time, 22-year-old Raeanne Franco and 24-year-old Julio Santoyo, both of Kansas City, are not listed as being charged in the Kansas District Court Public Access Portal.
