A Democrat has filed for Lyon County Commission Second District.
Ron McCoy filed his paperwork Thursday. He owns A-1 Pump and Jet. This will be his second run for the seat after initially running in 2020.
The Second District race already has two Republicans on the ballot, incumbent Doug Peck and challenger Sid Morgan.
The County Commission Third District race is more crowded as Republican incumbent Rollie Martin steps down following four terms in office. Four Republicans have filed — Chris Bartel, Warren Schmidt, Jarom Smith and Jon Vopat — along with Democrat Bill Nienstedt.
The candidate filing and withdrawal deadline is noon Monday.
