Kansas Appleseed director, USD 253 board chair celebrates Chiefs appearance at White House

Hail to the Chief. Or, in this case, the Chiefs.

Kansas City’s back-to-back Super Bowl champions made their trip to the White House for the second straight year. Among those on hand for the ceremony was Kansas Appleseed Director and USD 253 Emporia school board chair Jami Reever.

Reever told KVOE News she was surprised to be invited, but she says her conversations with White House staff on several policy issues may have gotten her in the door.

Reever has also been talking with the Biden administration about ending hunger, with concerns about items like the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, known as SNAP or food stamps, may be cut considerably in the next Farm Bill.
