Four years in and the annual Truckin’ For Tucker 5K Run/Walk is continuing to grow both in numbers and reach.
According to organizers, this year’s fundraiser was the largest to date with 115 participants, 95 of which came through pre-registration. Truckin’ For Tucker is an annual fundraiser that honors the memory of Tucker Lee who passed away in 2021 following a battle with NUT Carcinoma and supports the Tucker Lee Everyone Plays Fund which provides financial assistance to families so they can participate in athletics.
Tucker’s mother and event organizer Jodee Lee says she is grateful for all of the support for the fundraiser and the Everyone Plays Fund, the reach of which has expanded further across the local area over the past year.
Fellow organizer, and cousin of Tucker Lee, Jordan Waltz says it is clear based on the support they received this year that the community has quickly embraced the mission of Everyone Plays. She tells KVOE News when the application for this year’s event went live, the response was far better than she could have hoped for.
The 2024 Truckin’ For Tucker 5K generated a total of $4,000.
