Two Emporians were arrested on suspicion of several violations after a reported traffic stop in Chase County early Thursday.
The Chase County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy stopped a car for speeding on US Highway 50 shortly before 3 am. Leisha Oelka, age 38, was arrested on suspicion of driving while suspended, not having insurance and possessing marijuana. Her passenger, 45-year-old Jarman Washington, was arrested on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine, marijuana and paraphernalia, as well as interfering with law enforcement.
Formal charges are pending against both people.
