Eight area high school standouts played in the 8-Man All-Star Games held in Beloit on Saturday.
In the 8-Man Division I game, Chase County’s Tag Groh, Micah Cauthers, Brock Griffin, Lyndon’s Jalen Massey, Casten Wirth, and Caleb Anschutz, and Madison’s Lane Darbro played for the East. West won the game, 50-42. Groh hauled in three catches for 48 yards including a 13-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. Griffin recorded one carry for negative five yards and a reception for 26 yards. Cauthers had five receptions for 66 yards and two touchdowns. Massey had nine carries for 47 yards and two receptions for eight yards. Wirth registered one catch for 35 yards. Darbro did not record any offensive statistics.
Lebo’s Grayson Shoemaker was the lone area representative in the 8-Man Division II All-Star Game for the East. Shoemaker recorded three interceptions in the game, tying the 8-Man All-Star Game record.
Lyndon coach Michael Massey was the head coach for the 8-Man Division I East All-Stars with Chase County coach Derick Budke joining him as an assistant.
