The Kansas State baseball team fell to Virginia in their best of three Super Regional series on Friday and Saturday losing game one 7-4 before falling 10-4 on Saturday in game two. The Wildcats led 3-0 through three innings in game after a two-run double by Kaelen Culpepper in the top of the third inning, but then the Virginia offense got rolling as they outscored the cats 7-1 in the fifth through seventh innings. David Bishop had a solo homer in the top of the seventh but the Bat Cats couldn’t score again. On Saturday in game two, the game was nip and tuck throughout with Virginia jumping on top 2-0 as the visiting team in the top of the first but Kansas State tied it with runs in each of the first two innings. The #12 Cavaliers held a 5-4 lead going to the ninth when they exploded for five runs on a 2-run triple and a bases clearing double to put the game out of reach. Virginia advances to the College World Series while the Wildcats wrap up the year 35-26.
