A reported fire has sent two northeast Lyon County fire departments and the Kansas Highway Patrol to the Kansas Turnpike northeast of Emporia.
Miller and Reading fire departments were dispatched to Turnpike mile marker 154 northbound just before 5 pm Sunday, along with the Highway Patrol. Early indications are an SUV caught fire for unlisted reasons. The fire apparently spread to nearby grass.
There are currently no indications on whether anybody was hurt in the fire.
