The USD 253 Board of Education could select a realtor to handle the sale of the Kansas Avenue School building when they convene for their regular meeting Wednesday evening.
Amongst the agenda items will be the consideration of requests for proposals from local realtors. The board approved the RFP process during its last regular meeting back in May and the process should be relatively quick on Wednesday as only one proposal from Diamond Partners Inc. KellerWilliams Realty was received.
In other business, the board will have a second reading of student handbooks, a first reading of board policy updates and the regular construction update from McCownGordon Construction. A renewal of district property, casualty and workers comp insurance and a refinishing of the Emporia High gymnasium floor will also see consideration.
Before all of this, board members will convene a trio of executive sessions for consultation with an attorney, negotiations and the acquisition of property. The meeting will begin at 6 pm inside of the Mary Herbert Education Center.
