A Gardner woman crashed in northwest Lyon County on Monday and was taken to Newman Regional Health for treatment afterward.
Lyon County Detective Eric Williams says the crash in the 600 block of US Highway 56 near Bushong happened shortly after 12:45 pm. The resulting investigation found that 20-year-old Stormy Peterson was eastbound and drifted off the highway. Peterson overcorrected, initially sending her car across the center line before it veered into the south ditch and rolled once.
Peterson suffered suspected minor injuries.
Besides deputies, Allen-Admire and Emporia/Lyon County EMS responded.
Williams says distracted driving is a contributing factor, so he reminds everybody to keep distractions to a minimum while in vehicles.
