An Arizona man with a warrant out of Wisconsin is under arrest in Chase County after an alleged chase that went through Emporia before ending in Coffey County earlier this week.
Chase County Sheriff Jacob Welsh says a deputy initiated a vehicle stop on US Highway 50 shortly before 9:45 pm Monday. The deputy reported seeing possible packages of illegal drugs, but the driver fled when asked to step out of the vehicle.
The ensuing chase then went east on US Highway 50 through Emporia and ended near Old Highway 50 and Emmer Road just southwest of Lebo after the use of stop sticks.
The driver has been identified as 23-year-old Jeremiah Carter of Maricopa, Arizona. Details about the Wisconsin warrant have not been announced.
Formal charges are pending.
