Emporia’s annual Street Rehab work is currently underway, and City Engineer Jim Ubert says it’s an expansive list of projects:
There are nearly 30 work zones this summer and fall, including plans to install an asphalt overlay on two brick streets — East 10th from Mechanic to Union and East 11th from Mechanic to Market.
Ubert says the 2024 project could last into October. Work on curb and gutter, sidewalks and handicapped-accessible ramps are part of the first round of work currently underway. The asphalt overlay process follows.
