Emporia State University is the top Kansas school in the US News and World Report’s annual Midwest rankings.
ESU was 83rd on the list, leading a trio of Kansas colleges and universities in the US News’ top 100. ESU was listed for having a student-faculty ratio of 17-to-one, an acceptance rate of 96 percent and 67 percent of its classes being 20 people or smaller.
US News also noted the ESU four-year graduation rate of 35 percent, as well as in-state tuition averaging over $7,300 and out-of-state tuition approaching $16,000 per year. Undergraduate enrollment is slightly over 2,700 in the US News annual report.
University of Saint Mary and Pittsburg State also finished in the top 100 regionally. The University of Kansas was 151st nationally, while Kansas State was 170th.
