The driver in that incident then allegedly fled south on foot — leaving a shoe behind — and was not apprehended afterward.

11 Saturday: Emporia Police seeking information after vehicle chase, foot pursuit
Emporia Police are looking for the person who allegedly led a short vehicle chase and foot pursuit in town Saturday night.
The alleged incident began around 10 pm after a moped driver had a currently-unspecified violation. An officer tried to begin a vehicle stop near Sixth and Neosho, but the driver fled north on the moped to near 18th. Officer Lane Doty says the driver then went east to State and angled across Hammond Park to the southeast before wrecking near Center Street.
The driver then fled south on foot without one of his shoes. Doty says officers pursued to an apartment complex near 14th and Center and were in the process of setting up a perimeter before learning the driver had continued south.
A suspect description is currently pending.
