Just over four years ago, ValuNet and Sparklight merged but kept separate identities locally. Now the operations are merging under the same name later this summer.
ValuNet says Sparklight will be the company name going forward, highlighting Sparklight’s footprint with over 1 million customers in 24 states. ValuNet says customers will start getting information soon about Sparklight services and integrating current ValuNet accounts into the Sparklight system.
Sparklight took over the Cable One brand locally in April 2019, a year before the ValuNet merger. ValuNet started in 2011, led by founders Rick Tidwell, Stormy Supiran, Bob Agler and Steve Sauder.
Questions to ValuNet have been referred to Sparklight, which says the local company will continue its local service and will continue as a “dedicated community partner.” Sparklight locally will continue to offer internet, video and phone service while providing customer self-service options and a mobile app for convenience. The office location, 2914 West US Highway 50, will remain in use.
