Flint Hills Technical College’s Wrangler Ranch project has been approved for funding through the United Way of the Flint Hills.
Wrangler Ranch got a $1,500 grant through the United Way’s Emerging Needs program.
Wrangler Ranch addresses food insecurity and basic needs for college students, especially those in short-term urgent or crisis situations. The Emerging Needs program offers grants to “organizations presenting innovative, time-sensitive solutions to the community’s health and human services needs.” The funds are typically aimed at priority areas like education, income and health.
United Way Executive Director Daphne Mertens says more announcements are coming after July 1. The United Way also has its annual Racial Equity Grant application window opening on that date.
