Emporia State University has had a busy week.
ESU has announced its participation in the 2024 Kansas Tourism Sunflower Summer program, which gives affordable or free access to different tourism attractions across the state if they download the Sunflower Summer mobile app. ESU locations include the Johnston Geology Museum, Schmidt Museum of Natural History and Prophet Aquatic Research and Outreach Center.
Meanwhile, Fresh Ideas, the university’s new dining services partner, has announced its availability to work with event planners as part of the new campus dining contract. Event planners can use other food vendors for campus events not held at the Memorial Union, but they will not be able to use items like the Union’s tables and related catering items. Processes for bringing food trucks on campus are under development and could be announced by the end of July.
Also, new incoming students enrolling for the fall 2024 semester can sign up to receive one of 20 $500 scholarships as ESU has 20 straight days of drawings starting Monday. Students signing up to enroll between May 1-July 13 will automatically be entered. Students can sigh up to enroll online at emporia.edu/hornetconnection or by scheduling an appointment with an admissions counselor.
